The Yosemite series about the dichotomy of the landscape and the effects of time. Contrasting the violence of the water with the strength of the land, the size of the boulders with the height of the valley, the encompassing noise of the waterfalls and the softness of the meadows is always at the front of my mind. I started the series by making reverse drawings with printmaking ink. They have become the bones of the series. As I establish the visual vocabulary for the work, those drawings continue to dictate the choices I make.
